Korean News Site Leaks Samsung Galaxy S3 Display Specs

If what Korean news site ET News has leaked about the next Samsung Galaxy S is true then Apple has got its work cut out for the iPhone 5.

According to them, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is set to "go 3D" this February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S would have 2GB of RAM and could display 3D films and games on its 720p Super AMOLED screen, plug into 3D TV's to render 3D content such as photos.

According to Boy Genius Report, "Samsung’s Galaxy lineup has been one of the most sought after smartphone lines worldwide. The Galaxy S II became the company’s fastest selling smartphone ever, selling 3 million units in just 55 days. Moreover, Samsung sold more than 30 million Galaxy S and Galaxy S II smartphones worldwide as of October. There is no question that consumers are interested in the Galaxy."

Ooooh, Apple fanboys gonna hate! :P

Intel, Toshiba, and Samsung To Co-Develop Next-Gen Chips

Powerhouse chipmakers Intel Corp, Toshiba Corp and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd are teaming up to co-develop next-gen technologies that could more than halve semiconductor line widths to nearly 10 nanometers by 2016

The world's top makers of  NAND-type, Samsung Electronics and Toshiba, together with world's largest chipmaker Intel, intend to form a consortium that will include 10 more firms operating in semiconductor materials and related fields.

Intel general manager William Holt said chip making was getting increasingly more complicated the smaller the manufacturing process is becoming, hence the need for this latest co-operation in the industry.

Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will sponsor 50% of the initial funds roughly estimated at 100 billion yen. while rest will be covered by the members of the consortium.

Toshiba and Samsung plan to use the next-gen technologies to make 10 nanometer-class NAND flash memory and other chips, while Intel will likely use it to develop faster microprocessors.

A nanometer is a millionth of a millimeter, or a hair's width divided by 100,000.

Verizon Opens Shop For Samsung Galaxy Tab At $599

On November 11 in the United States, Verizon opens it's doors to customers wanting to buy the 7-inch, Anroid-powered, Samsung Galaxy Tab. The price for the Samsung Galaxy Tab has also be set at $599.

Verizon Wireless will also offer a monthly Internet access plan starting at $20 a month for 1Gb of data.

So. at $599, the Samsung Galaxy Tab is more expensive than the cheapest iPad, which costs between $499 $829 depending on the amount of memory or whether the device has both wireless and 3G connectivity.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab's market price seems a bit too steep at this point. Inspite of some features like the front and rear cameras and Adobe Flash support, it doesn't really bring anything revolutional to the table.

But that's just me, how about you? Would you buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab or wait out the upcoming iPad 2 which is rumored to have that camera the iPad 1 sorely lacks?
