New Apple Patent For Accessory Transceiver Enables Phone Calls On iPod Touch

A few weeks back, modified casings like the Apple Peel 520 and tPhone were released to allow phone calls from the Apple iPod Touch.

Scrap that! PatenlyApple discovered a new patent for an Accessory Transceiver which would allow iPod Touch owners to make phone calls.

The Apple iPod Touch could use the transceiver to connect directly or wirelessly using the Accessory Transceiver to enable phone calling.

Apple filed for the Accessory Transceiver patent in the first quarter of 2010 but has not been granted yet.

Of course large corporations like Apple have thousands of patents for accessories and devices but never really come to fruition.
