37 People In Zeus Trojan Crime Ring Arrested And Charged


The Zeus Trojan virus was touted as 'the most sophisticated and dangerous Trojan virus by security experts'. It seems a lot of people found a way to download and use the Zeus Trojan for unscrupulous ways. Thankfully, they've been found out.

Today the FBI and U.S. Attorney's office filed charges of bank fraud , false use of passport to money laundering, and conspiracy to commit wire fraud against 37 people for being a part of an international crime ring that stole at least $3 million from bank accounts by infecting computers with the Zeus Trojan and other malware.

Seventeen people connected to the Zeus Trojan crime ring are still at large. All suspects are listed as being from Easter Europe.

All face a jail time ranging from 10 years to 30 years and fines from $250,000 to $1 million per count.
