Today's encounter was a different one. From the first sandstorm and rain, Saudi Arabia was already expecting summer. Yet, for almost a month, everyone wondered why the sky was still gray. Then today, the winds kept getti
ng stronger and stronger. By about 1pm, it had turned into a full-blown storm with a heavy downpour of water and hail and debris from everywhere. Many people in Riyadh abandoned their cars for safety as water began to steadily rise in Riyadh's lower areas even if the hailstorm only lasted for less than an hour. It has been 8 hours and a lot of areas here in Riyadh are still flooded.
I tried to look for more news on the internet about this phenomenon, but I guess it will take up to tomorrow to find out the full extent of damages here in Riyadh.
